It’s my birthday and I’ll give away a book if I want to!

Yep! I’m 29 again today, and I want to celebrate by giving away some free books. So every Friday in May, I’ll be posting a book you can win just by leaving comments, sharing with friends and tweeting your little hearts out.

To kick things off, I’m giving away a copy of The Doctor’s Lady by Jody Hedlund. I previously reviewed the book here, so check that out to see if you’re interested. Historical fiction. Romance. A great summer read, if you ask me. And if you like it, she’s got a new book coming out later this year.

Here’s what you have to do to win: Leave a comment on the blog (that’s right here) about the best birthday gift you ever received. For me, it’s this year: my husband is graduating from seminary!

For extra chances to win: share this giveaway on Facebook or Twitter (1 entry each), subscribe to the blog via e-mail (1 entry) or follow me on Twitter (1 entry). Leave a comment on the blog for each extra chance to win. I’ll pick a winner on Fridays and announce it with the next week’s free book offering. There’s a mix of fiction and non-fiction, so check back on Fridays to see what I’m giving away.

Free book Fridays during May — spread the word!

  1. MY best birthday present every had to be our trip last year. We went to Cozumel, Mexico for our 10 year anniversary and it happened to be over my birthday. I did have to spend part of the day in a plane, but it was worth it!

  2. I would love to have the opportunity to read this book. My best birthday present was last year when I was given my first pandigital ereader from my husband, I am on my 3rd one now(got it yesterday for my birthday!!!), kids broke the first two:( Hoping this one will last longer!!

  3. My best birthday gift was the one I received this year. It was being able to spend the week with my best friend who lives in Seattle.

  4. My best birthday was when my husband took me and our boys to the same hotel we spent our honeymoon at.

  5. May today there be peace within…May you trust that you are exactly
where you are meant to be…May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others…May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you…May you be content with yourself just the way you are… Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us.

I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright no matter how gray the day may appear. I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun even more. I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive and everlasting. I wish you enough pain so that even the smallest of joys in life may appear bigger. I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting. I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess. I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final good-bye.

    I WISH YOU ENOUGH!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

  6. Oh my word! I’d love to read this book. Found you via Jody’s FB page. My fave b-day gift was a Shiloh shepherd puppy that my husband (a lawyer) won for a client in a court case. She didn’t want it, so she said he could have it! I was so surprised to go over and pick up my fluffy little bundle of cuteness that b-day!

  7. I’m not sure about what would be my best gift. My husband got me an iPad this year, and I’ve been enjoying that.
